Christine

Christine's work with MAPS began in 2006 when she was a patient advocate on the Informed Consent Working Group and later on the Just Culture Working Group. Chris has served as a peer-reviewer on scientific grants for the Department of Defense, the National Cancer Institute, the Avon Foundation, and the University of Minnesota. She was a patient co-investigator on two PCORI-funded grants and an AHRQ-funded grant. A past member of the Avon Foundation’s Scientific Advisory Board, Chris also served for 8 years as a public member of the Minnesota Board of Nursing. Chris co-founded the Minnesota Breast Cancer Coalition in 1991 and has been on the Board of the National Breast Cancer Coalition since 2001. Chris retired in 2005 after nearly 40 years as a high school English teacher. She and her husband have three children and four grandchildren.
