As a Lakewood Health System Board member,  I have been engaged in volunteer committees promoting Patient and Family Advisory Councils and the concerns for patient safety.  Several of our Board members attended a Mn Hospital Association winter Trustee Conference and attended a breakout session with Lisa.  That so energized us to ask to have a PFAC (Patient and Family Advisory Council) formed at Lakewood. We have had presentations on patient and staff safety.  The MAPS Committee stresses advocacy by patients for a voice in their caregiving and safety.  With patients involved in their care, and having a voice they will achieve greater  health and knowledge.
