My professional background has been more focused towards the financial and operational side of business until my retirement.  But after experiencing a number of surgeries myself, as well as my family,  I was surprised to see the same type of mistakes being an issue in today’s medical field as they were years ago.   From my personal experience, I have met a lot of very smart people in the medical field with great compassion for the health profession, but for some reason, we are not improving.  So, I decided that I would try and be part of the solution and join an organization called MAPS that a friend introduced me to.
