Jessica Sylvester

Jessica Sylvester is a Minnesota registered nurse, nursing leader, nurse entrepreneur, mentor, mother, and disrupter of the status quo in nursing operations, dually focused on increased efficiencies and nursing wellness.

While leading as the Director of Emergency Services for Hennepin Healthcare (HCMC) in downtown Minneapolis during the pandemic and social unrest, Jessica experienced firsthand the enormous impact on patient safety, facility viability, and nurses' professional/personal happiness. Staffing challenges, critical volumes of patients needing care, and nowhere to place patients are not new challenges in healthcare. COVID-19 proved to be the tipping point. In 2022, Jessica left her role at HCMC and founded Call Light Health so professional nurses and facilities would have direct access to each other. This free market and matchmaking mentality has been continually finessed through co-design as nurses and engineers work side by side to build the technology and adapt as needed. Call Light Health can now be found in systems local and is currently poised/prepared to scale across the US.

As a nurse and leader, Jessica has served from the bedside to the boardroom. As a Minnesota-based RN, she started her career as a staff/charge nurse at Unity Hospital in Fridley before moving to leadership roles through HealthPartners' Methodist Hospital and various leadership roles within HCMC, such as Nurse Manager for the Surgical Trauma Neuro Unit and Rapid Treatment Unit, and then the Director of Emergency Services that included Adult, Pediatric, Burn Programs, Emergency Department, Hyperbaric Unit, Urgent Care, SANE nurses, and Emergency Preparedness for the region. Jessica has also chaired the Public Relations Committee/Board for the Minnesota Organization of Leaders in Nursing (MOLN) and is currently serving on the dean’s Board of Visitors for the University of Minnesota School of Nursing. She is married with three beautiful girls named Drew, Blake, and Beau! And loves a great adventure!
